Rick Heeren – Mechanical Engineer

Rick has been working at Willems Baling Equipment since early 2025. After completing his graduation internship, Rick started as a Mechanical Engineer. In this role, he works daily on a wide range of engineering challenges.

Why did you choose Willems Baling Equipment?

For me, it was important to work at a company with its own production and assembly department. This gives me the chance to keep learning every day and to continuously develop myself. On top of that, it’s really rewarding to see my designs come to life in the production hall when I walk through the building.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

What I really like is the variety in the machines we work on. While the foundation often remains the same, the customer-specific requirements make each machine unique. There’s also plenty of room to add my own ideas and input into the new machines.

How would you describe the working atmosphere?

In my experience, everyone is always ready to help whenever needed. The office atmosphere is calm and focused, with room for a friendly chat with colleagues now and then.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

In my free time I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my girlfriend. I also like to stay active, football is my biggest passion, but I also play padel and go to the gym for some variety.

At Willems, everyone gets the opportunity to learn and grow. The perfect example of: The way we develop!
